About the Founders & Leadership

Zoom Defense was founded by Jeff Zumbach and Megan Zumbach, combining operational expertise with a shared commitment to firearm safety, responsible ownership, and community impact. 

Megan Zumbach brings a strong background in operations, workforce strategy, and large-scale program execution. With extensive experience building scalable programs and partnerships, she supports the development of training materials, contributes to operational strategy, and helps drive community initiatives and secure storage solutions. Her work extends beyond the business, actively contributing to conversations and efforts surrounding responsible firearm ownership and safe storage practices. 

Jeff Zumbach, an Army Veteran and former LEO, serves as the primary instructor for Zoom Defense, providing a practical, hands-on perspective rooted in real-world firearm knowledge and application. His focus on safety, preparedness, and responsible use ensures that every training experience is grounded, approachable, and relevant for individuals at all experience levels. 

As Zoom Defense continues to grow, the company has expanded its leadership team to support its long-term vision. 

Scott Schoerner joined the team, bringing valuable experience in operations, client engagement, and execution. His role strengthens the company’s ability to deliver high-quality service, support partners, and ensures a seamless experience across training programs and offerings. 

Trevor Ladd, a retired Army Veteran, contributes to the broader vision of the business, offering insight into long-term growth, structure, and the continued evolution of services and infrastructure. His perspective supports the company’s direction as it scales its impact. 

Together, this leadership team has positioned Zoom Defense as more than a training provider. The company delivers CPL certification courses, secure firearm storage solutions, and ongoing education designed to build confidence, capability, and accountability.
